Merry music and wintry words at Chichester’s Festive Jazz Café

Have you got your tinselly tickets for the Festive Jazz Café on Thursday, December 8th, 7.30, St John’s Chapel, Chichester?

This fabulous festive foray features Sussex band the Jazz Smugglers with Maria Ball on vocals. The evening promises a delightful selection box of wintry words and mellow, seasonal sax sounds with jazz classics from Gershwin, Cole Porter and other favourites.

Readings will come from Michael Jayston – a star of film, TV and stage who played Tsar Nicholas in the Oscar-winning film Nicholas and Alexandra. His roles include some of Chichester Copywriter’s favourite TV shows (Eastenders and Dr Who) while on stage he has appeared with greats such as Laurence Olivier.

Appearing with Michael is actor Emily Rose Smith (The Bear by Chekhov, Festival of Chichester 2013) and BBC wildlife poet of the year, Hugh Dunkerley. Plus complimentary mince pies!

All proceeds from this event will go towards Festival of Chichester 2017, which is being held in and around the city 17th June-16th July. Katy of Chichester Copywriter is delighted to be managing the festival’s website this coming year and signs are that 2017 will bring a bigger and better programme of community and professional events.

Don’t miss out on the Festive Jazz Café: Thursday 8th December, 7.30, St John’s Chapel, St John’s Street, Chichester. Tickets £12 (students £10) from Novium/TIC, Tower Street, 01243 775888.
