What are you doing on Remembrance Day to commemorate the WW1 centenary? Katy of Chichester Copywriter is off to Chichester Library on Tuesday 11th November to a talk about love and letters.
In an insightful talk given by authors Mandy Kirkby and Juliet West, our West Sussex copywriter will learn how romance flourished – or faltered – during the First World War.
Editor and author of one previous work, The Language of Flowers, Mandy Kirkby will read from her latest work Love Letters of the Great War. This collection of over sixty letters, many previously unpublished, is written from all sides and provides an intimate glimpse into the lives of men and women separated by war.
Juliet West was a journalist before taking an MA in Creative Writing at University of Chichester, where she won the Kate Betts’ Memorial Prize. Juliet’s debut novel Before the Fall was published in May 2014 and tells the true story of a First World War love affair.
Tickets for Love and Letters in the First World War, which starts at 19.30, are £3 and are available from Chichester Library. Please call 01243 777351 for further details or to book tickets.
