Following the success of their sell-out launch last October, the team behind the Chichester-based creative workshop are encouraging children aged 6-11 to join them again and let their imaginations fly as high as Charlie’s Great Glass Elevator!
Promising a ‘choctasticly’ creative experience, Story Factory Chichester invites children to embark on a fun and fascinating exploration of tales through words, art, interaction and music as part of a day-long workshop in the Easter holidays.
Hosted by writers Katy Lassetter and Vicky Edwards, special guest experts include award-winning children’s author Becky Edwards, illustrator and designer Paul Fuller, interactive story practitioners Mary Atkinson and Sandra Hooper and music practitioner Mike Fry.
Taking place10am-4.30pm on Thursday 9th April at the Friends Meeting in Priory Road, Chichester, children of all abilities will be encouraged to use their imaginations to create and tell stories inspired by all things chocolate. There will be sessions in writing, illustration and music as well as games and interactive storytelling. The umbrella theme for the day is ‘Hold the front page…Choc Shock!’
Children’s Author and Just Write for Kids Club founder Becky Edwards said: “There is nothing more important than giving children the chance to let their imaginations run wild. Story Factory Chichester is a fantastic opportunity for children to write, create and draw stories and characters in an inspirational, fun-filled environment.”
Chichester Copywriter’s Katy Lassetter added: “The first Story Factory Chichester in October was a huge success. It was fully booked and Vicky and I received wonderful feedback from both parents and children. We’re excited to be doing it again with another fantastic team of special guests to help inspire the children. We can’t wait to see where the children’s imaginations take them this time.”
Offering support as the main sponsor of Story Factory Chichester is JSPC Computer Services and James Stoner, JSPC’s founder, commented:
“We are really proud to be sponsoring Story Factory Chichester, to support these children while they explore expression through words and the arts. We are very passionate about our work within education and we are firm believers that technology can also help develop children’s creativity and innovation.’
The workshop fee for the whole day is £28 per child. All materials, drinks and snacks will be provided – just bring a packed lunch and your imagination! For more details and booking forms email Katy or call 01243 533421.
