Hugh Dunks into Hare for February’s Open Mic Poetry in Chichester

As Brendan Cleary had to postpone his February visit, Sussex poet and university lecturer Hugh Dunkerley will head back for this month’s Open Mic Poetry in the new Jubilee Hall, adjacent to New Park Cinema, Chichester, on Wednesday 27th February at 7.30pm.

Hugh’s poetry has been a favourite with local audiences who anticipate his latest poems. He’ll read from his collection, Hare, as well as from his back catalogue and some brand new work. Although it often focuses on the natural world, as February is the month of St Valentine, Hugh’s poetry might feature some love themes too this time.

Local poets will get the chance to step into the spotlight after Hugh’s performance. Just recently, this Chichester group has had a wonderful selection of new poetry read aloud at their evenings by poets of all ages and styles. While some have published collections, others are just starting out and the organisers are always delighted to see how many local creative writers will turn up to share their poetry. As always, those interested in listening to poetry are just as welcome as those reading.

Entrance is £3.00 on the door. For information please call Barry Smith on: 07813244731.
